Product Designer

About the role

We’re looking for a product designer to join us inventing a new way to do science. You’ll work with our founder (who’s also a designer) to build novel research tools that will transform how scientific discoveries are made for decades to come.

Responsibilities

• Designing and shipping features that define how humans and AI collaborate to do research.
• Talking to users, translating these conversations into product features, improvements and fixes.
• Working closely with engineers to ensure high-quality implementation and rapid iteration.
• Owning aspects of our visual identity across product, marketing, socials and brand.
• Maintaining design systems, documentation practices and workflows that help the team build visually consistent, high-quality features quickly.

Requirements

• You are quick, scrappy and first and foremost a builder.
• Product at Anara moves lightning fast. We typically take features from idea to production in days, not weeks or months.
• You’ve spent at least 2+ years shipping complex but beautiful features to real users.
• You live and breathe pixels with excellent taste for well-crafted interaction design and UI details.
• You have worked in a high-growth, fast-paced environment (ideally another startup) and can drive things forward with relatively little oversight.

Qualifications

• Experience with design systems and documentation practices.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Skills

• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, etc.
• Experience with agile methodologies and rapid prototyping.
• Understanding of data visualization and its application in product design.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
