About the Role
A Product Designer 3 plays a key role in shaping BSWH strategic initiatives through a customer’s perspective. They drive the quality, creativity, and delivery of human-centered digital products for patients and families. We are building a versatile team of designers with strengths in either UI or UX. The Product Designer 3 collaborates with research, service design, content design, engineering, analytics, product managers, and CX leadership to solve digital pain points, empower users, and influence stakeholders with clear rationale and storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Advance BSWH customer-centric digital experiences with innovative and successful solutions.
- Inspire and motivate other designers to achieve excellence in design and communication.
- Distill complex ideas so others can quickly understand them and create design cohesion across the ecosystem.
- Coach and mentor other designers and team members, providing direct feedback, critique, and strategic direction.
- Serve as a key advisor across product teams and build alliances to resolve differences.
- Influence and inspire teams on product design strategies, design process, and opportunities.
- Create and direct design quality processes, pattern libraries, frameworks, and other tools.
- Support quality and consistency across multiple projects and teams.
- Build frameworks such as UI and/or UX components, libraries, templates, workflows, and collaboration tools.
- Translate BSWH branding and existing patterns into scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and product managers to align on concepts and requirements.
- Bring concepts to life in end-to-end user experiences using appropriate mediums and fidelity.
- Build interactive prototypes, wireframes, and/or storyboards to test and communicate ideas.
- Establish clear rationale for design recommendations using customer insights and feedback.
- Iterate quickly and explore multiple solutions for a given problem.
- Evangelize customer needs to inform healthcare recommendations.
- Stay informed on current design and industry trends.
- Promote inclusive design standards for desktop, web, and mobile.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, QA, and designers.
- Facilitate research, strategy, ideation, design, and testing of new concepts.
- Assist the Customer Journey, Consumer Solutions, and Digital teams.
- Organize and facilitate activities to keep the team strategic and critical.
- Perform other position-appropriate duties as required.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in visual, interaction, or product design strategy.
- Impressive creative portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of projects.
- Effortless communication and presentation skills; natural collaborator.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and adaptability to customize them.
- Ability to evangelize design best practices across digital and physical mediums.
- Exceptional knowledge of Miro, Figma, FigJam, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar tools.
- Experience creating prototypes or storyboards to showcase design concepts.
- Understanding of customer and business problems.
- Experience working with and contributing to brand guidelines, style guides, and design systems.
- Ability to work from low fidelity to high fidelity.
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-disciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
- 5 years of relevant experience.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $114,150 (entry-level qualifications) to $176,946 (highly experienced). The specific rate will depend upon the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
