About the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Apparel Designer for Jordan Streetwear, with a refined and elevated design perspective rooted in streetwear culture. This is a 3-month contract position based in Beaverton, OR, with a pay rate of $38-42 hourly (OT40). The role involves collaborating with the JRD Design Streetwear team to integrate design changes, create tech packs, and update product files.
Responsibilities
- Create designs for a variety of apparel classifications for Jordan Streetwear, ranging from seasonal capsule collections to high-volume franchise apparel.
- Craft the future, distinct look of Jordan Streetwear Apparel under the direction of the Streetwear Product Creative Director.
- Present design concepts to internal audiences with support from design leaders.
- Partner and communicate with cross-functional teams (Design, Technical Development, Product Management) to ensure design feasibility against product creation timelines.
- Provide design support for broader Apparel Design team as needed.
- Translate consumer insights into trend-right streetwear product.
- Create and update tech packs, sketches, flat drawings, and product files.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel/Fashion Design or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in Apparel Product Design with a focus on tech packs.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and other design tools (Photoshop, Miro, CLO, Keynote, Vizcom).
- Strong foundational design skills, including 2D CADs, croquis sketching, prototype fittings, and tech pack creation.
- In-depth knowledge of materials, silhouettes, proportions, trims, and color theory.
- Experience in streetwear and lifestyle apparel for men’s or women’s markets.
- Ability to balance business objectives with creative innovation.
- Strong visual, verbal, and storytelling skills to articulate design concepts.
- Experience managing multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
Nice to have
- 3D design experience (e.g., Vizcom or similar tools).
- Previous Nike or industry-related experience.
Pay
$38–42 hourly (OT40).
Schedule
3-month contract, full-time hours (40+ OT).
Who you’ll work with
You’ll collaborate closely with the streetwear design team, triad partners, and cross-functional disciplines (graphics, color, product management, material/trim development, technical development, and sourcing teams). This role has no direct reports.
