Responsibilities

  • Play a critical role in predictive engineering and product development.
  • Leverage expertise in mechanics, materials, and numerical simulation methods to support the structural design and validation of innovative consumer technology products.
  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and execute system-level finite element simulations, evaluate product performance under various loading conditions, and provide data-driven recommendations that influence design decisions.
  • Develop, set up, and execute simple to highly complex finite element analysis (FEA) simulations.
  • Build and maintain system-level simulation models for structural performance evaluation.
  • Analyze and post-process large simulation datasets.
  • Interpret simulation results and communicate findings to engineering stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with product design teams to optimize designs and improve product reliability.
  • Provide engineering recommendations based on simulation outcomes.
  • Support rapid design iterations in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing simulation methodologies and results.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience performing finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Hands-on experience with Abaqus, including both implicit and explicit simulations.
  • Strong foundation in solid mechanics and structural analysis.
  • Experience developing and interpreting complex simulation models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for engineering innovation and product development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ANSA and META pre/post-processing tools.
  • Experience with system-level modeling and simulation.
  • Knowledge of IC packaging reliability analysis.
  • Experience with board-level solder joint reliability.
  • Experience evaluating shock, drop, vibration, and thermal cycling conditions.
  • Understanding of material behavior and constitutive material modeling.
  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Materials Science, or a related field.
