About the role
Puck is a dynamic manufacturing company located in Manning, IA. We are seeking a Product Design Engineer I to join our team. The ideal candidate is a technically minded, detail-driven engineer with 3+ years of related design engineering experience.
Responsibilities
- Create and update part and small-assembly models in accordance with the Engineering Standards Manual
- Model routing for electrical and hydraulic systems, fasteners, and specification callouts
- Maintain the Puck part library for both manufactured and purchased parts in accordance with the Engineering Standards Manual
- Organize and structure models to align with manufacturing flow and product configurations
- Perform basic engineering calculations — such as stress, tolerance stack-ups, and power — to support assigned design work
- Ensure bills of materials (BOMs) accurately reflect production-floor requirements
- Contribute to product specification documentation
- Coordinate updates to customer-facing assets such as owner, technical, and parts manuals resulting from ECOs or related design changes
- Participate in First Article Inspection (FIT) activities on the production floor and assist in creating FIT documentation
- Support senior engineers with design tasks and related documentation
- Participate in product design meetings including stand-ups, design reviews, project hand-offs, and manufacturing hand-offs
- Complete assigned EWR work
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of related design engineering experience
- Associate's degree or higher in engineering or a related science preferred
