Product Design Engineer

Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of precision pressure control products, from concept to production
- Define product requirements collaboratively with customers, sales, and cross-functional teams
- Apply advanced analytical and engineering techniques to develop robust, reliable designs for fluid and pressure control systems
- Create and edit detailed CAD models, assemblies, and engineering documentation
- Drive design validation through performance testing, environmental testing, and certification activities
- Lead and develop Design FMEA and risk mitigation strategies
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to product performance, reliability, or manufacturability
- Serve as escalation point for field issues, customer complaints, and returned product analysis
- Provide guidance on cost optimization, material selection, and manufacturability improvements
- Manage engineering projects including timeline, cost, and resource coordination
- Provide advanced technical support for production, service, and field applications
- Train and mentor engineering and production staff
- Collaborate with manufacturing to improve assembly, testing, and production processes
- Diagnose and address design-for-manufacturability issues, including tolerances and drawing interpretation
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years relevant product development experience (automation industry or process control experience preferred)
- Direct experience with pressure regulators, transducers, or fluid control products strongly preferred
Skills and Competencies
- Advanced skills in engineering techniques and technical writing
- Knowledge of engineering terms and standard engineering techniques
- Intermediate command of communication protocols
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Ability to create and edit 3D CAD and 2D drawings (SolidWorks)
