Product Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of precision pressure control products, from concept to production
• Define product requirements collaboratively with customers, sales, and cross-functional teams
• Apply advanced analytical and engineering techniques to develop robust, reliable designs for fluid and pressure control systems
• Create and edit detailed CAD models, assemblies, and engineering documentation
• Drive design validation through performance testing, environmental testing, and certification activities
• Lead and develop Design FMEA and risk mitigation strategies
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to product performance, reliability, or manufacturability
• Serve as escalation point for field issues, customer complaints, and returned product analysis
• Provide guidance on cost optimization, material selection, and manufacturability improvements
• Manage engineering projects including timeline, cost, and resource coordination
• Provide advanced technical support for production, service, and field applications
• Train and mentor engineering and production staff
• Collaborate with manufacturing to improve assembly, testing, and production processes
• Diagnose and address design-for-manufacturability issues, including tolerances and drawing interpretation

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years relevant product development experience (automation industry or process control experience preferred)
• Direct experience with pressure regulators, transducers, or fluid control products strongly preferred

Skills and Competencies

• Advanced skills in engineering techniques and technical writing
• Knowledge of engineering terms and standard engineering techniques
• Intermediate command of communication protocols
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Ability to create and edit 3D CAD and 2D drawings (SolidWorks)
