About the role
The Associate is responsible for completing in-store food and non-food demonstrations. This role involves acquiring and maintaining knowledge of products represented, preparing and serving samples, and engaging with consumers in a professional manner. The position typically does not exceed 25 hours per week, though hours may vary based on business or client needs.
Responsibilities
- Gain and apply knowledge of products being demonstrated.
- Proactively intercept, engage, and interact with consumers to promote and sell products.
- Effectively communicate product features and benefits.
- Prepare and serve food samples using small appliances such as microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers, and knives.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe workstation, including using cleaning chemicals.
- Present a professional appearance consistent with job requirements.
- Set up and prepare the Event Table for execution.
- Achieve 100% execution on assigned tasks.
- Assist with preparation for client visits and complete audit corrections.
- Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to meet company and client objectives.
- Complete expense reports as per Company Policy.
- Accurately prepare and submit all online requirements on the same day as event execution.
- Navigate company electronic systems, use Microsoft Outlook, and view assigned documents (Microsoft Word & Adobe PDF).
- Follow any other job-related instructions or tasks as directed by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in using personal computers or mobile devices, including applications and internal systems.
- Local Food Handlers permit may be required.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and tools.
- Reach with hands and arms, including overhead tasks up to 65 inches.
- Talk and hear, with visual ability to read instructions and perform tasks.
- Stoop, kneel, squat, climb or step up a ladder, and maintain balance.
- Lift and carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds).
- Push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully laden with appliances, supplies, and product.
- Prepare foods and beverages using appliances such as cooking utensils, knives, convection ovens, coffee makers, electric fryers, and microwaves.
- Be in contact with cleaning supplies.
Work Environment
- Retail store environment with limited travel.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and adhere to grooming standards; specific retailer dress code requirements are included in training documents.
Skills
- Primary language skill: English; bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity.
Pay
Hourly range: $15.00 - $15.00
