About the role
The Associate is responsible for completing in-store food and non-food demonstrations. This role involves acquiring and maintaining knowledge of products represented, preparing and serving samples, and engaging with consumers in a professional manner. Associates must maintain a clean, sterile, and safe workstation and adhere to a professional appearance consistent with job requirements.
This role is not expected to exceed more than 25 hours per week, although the company maintains the discretion to adjust hours based on business or client needs.
Responsibilities
- Gain adequate knowledge of the products represented and effectively communicate their features and benefits.
- Proactively intercept, engage, and interact with consumers to sell products in a positive manner.
- Prepare and serve food samples using small appliances such as microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers, and knives.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe workstation using cleaning chemicals.
- Set up and prepare the Event Table for execution, ensuring 100% execution on assigned work.
- Assist with preparation for client visits and complete audit corrections.
- Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to meet company and client objectives.
- Complete expense reports as per Company Policy.
- Accurately prepare and submit all online requirements on the same day as event execution.
- Navigate company electronic systems, use Microsoft Outlook, and view assigned documents (Microsoft Word & Adobe PDF).
- Follow any other job-related instructions or tasks as directed by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in using personal computers or mobile devices, including applications and internal systems.
- Local Food Handlers permit may be required.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms (including overhead tasks up to 65 inches).
- Ability to talk, hear, and read instructions.
- Visual ability to perform event tasks.
- Stoop, kneel, squat, climb or step up a ladder, and maintain balance.
- Lift and carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds).
- Push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully laden with appliances, supplies, and product.
- Prepare foods and beverages using appliances such as cooking utensils, knives, convection ovens, coffee makers, electric fryers, and microwaves.
- Be in contact with cleaning supplies.
- English is the primary language; bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity.
