Overview
The Product Costing & Analytics Analyst supports accurate, timely, and data-driven product costing across the development and production lifecycle. This role is responsible for validating cost components, analyzing pricing and margin variances, maintaining costing data within key systems, and partnering with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure product costs are complete, consistent, and aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Review, validate, and analyze product costing information, including cost sheets, BOMs, purchase orders, invoices, and supporting documentation, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Evaluate daily purchase order price change requests, investigate discrepancies, and partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve pricing or documentation issues.
- Perform variance analysis between show costing, development costing, final production costing, and post-production updates to support margin visibility and profitability maintenance.
- Maintain and update costing data, cost charts, and related reporting to support accurate business analysis and decision-making.
- Use Excel, Sigma, PLM, Qiwk reports, Jira, and other systems to maintain accurate data, generate reporting, and identify inconsistencies in costing information.
- Develop a strong understanding of DY jewelry components, materials, labor, finishing instructions, and product construction to accurately evaluate cost structures.
- Conduct thorough self-review of calculations, pricing inputs, and supporting details prior to submission to ensure high data integrity.
- Communicate costing updates, discrepancies, and required actions clearly to cross-functional partners, including Product Development, Procurement, Merchandising, Production, and vendors.
- Continuously prioritize competing tasks, monitor deadlines, and adjust focus as business needs evolve while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to review high-volume costing, pricing, BOM, PO, and invoice data for accuracy, gaps, and inconsistencies.
- Advanced Excel skills, including large datasets, formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and analytical reporting.
- Proactive problem solver with sound judgment and the ability to validate information, question unusual cost changes, resolve discrepancies, and improve data accuracy.
- Proven ability to work proactively and independently while contributing as a collaborative team partner.
- Highly organized communicator able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, summarize findings, and follow up effectively with internal teams and vendors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with effective interpersonal skills.
- Experience with PLM, Sigma, Qiwk, Jira, or similar product lifecycle/reporting systems preferred; knowledge of jewelry materials, components, production processes, or product costing a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Pay
Estimated salary range: $80,000 – $90,000 base pay (total compensation may include healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, Summer Fridays, generous paid time off, sick time, and more).
