Product Builder II 1st shift

About the role
Function as an intermediate member of the production team whose goal is to perform a variety of complex medical assembly and processing tasks building product to meet the schedule supporting customer demand, operate tools and equipment, inspect in-process components, and complete documentation as required. All Product Builders shall always perform their activities with Safety, Quality, Integrity, and inform the Lead and Supervisor of any nonconforming product.
Work Location/Schedule
This position requires the employee to be onsite at our Maplewood, MN location. Shift: First shift, 4x10 hour days (Monday–Thursday, 4:00 AM–2:30 PM). VitalPath does not offer relocation assistance for this position.
Responsibilities
- Follow and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, assembly methods, product handling methods, Good Documentation Practices, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety requirements.
- Responsible for producing quality products.
- Act as Quality control when examining output to ensure 100% adherence to requirements and in-process unit inspection throughout the build processes. Inspection includes product, documentation, handling, and control.
- Perform single or limited number of core tasks of routine nature on an assigned team or project.
- Responsible for manufacturing part families and/or operations on intermediate to complex builds that include but are not limited to multilumen and steerable catheters.
- Understand travelers, how to identify materials, use a microscope, and use production/inspection tools and equipment needed for product builds.
- Apply proper identification of materials and product as needed.
- Perform line clearance activities.
- Arrive on time, stay on task, and contribute to better output and reaching production goals.
- Maintain a clean general work area during the shift and proper cleaning at the end of each shift.
- Take initiative to find work when necessary.
- Complete forms as defined by industry standards.
- Act as quality control when examining output to ensure products meet specifications.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
- 1 year of medical device assembly experience in a cleanroom.
- Experience with assembly inspection equipment using a microscope.
- Experience using basic tools, micro tooling, and equipment for assembling and inspecting product (tweezers, cutter, pliers, rulers, micrometer, etc).
- Ability to understand basic instructions in English.
- Willing to work in a team environment and promote teamwork among others.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of shop floor paperwork.
- Ability to set up and use simple manufacturing equipment to complete processes.
- Attention to detail and instructions.
- Ability to perform the job with limited supervision.
- Basic math skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic computer skills: Excel, Word.
- Understand basic blueprints/specifications.
- Working knowledge of ISO 13485 and cGMP.
Pay
The hourly range for this position is $20.92–$22.46. The posted hourly range complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as market conditions, level of experience and training, education, certifications, as well as internal and external equity. This position is eligible to earn an annual performance bonus based on meeting VitalPath’s bonus performance plan.
