Product and Process Industrialization Engineer- Auburn, IN
Responsibilities
- Work with Tooling/Molding Industrial Engineer to execute change management for new products, materials, equipment, or new/relocated production processes, according to internal standards.
- Update product-specific production specifications, such as production cycle times, process characteristics and parameters, according to internal standards.
- Ensure the achievement of the product and process industrialization targets according to internal and external customer expectations.
- Update product-specific Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis according to local conditions and standards.
- Perform product-specific requests for testing and start-up of the production process and pre-series production (e.g., ensure run rate) and hand over to the production series according to standard.
- Cook up timing of related processing equipment for the purpose of PPAP support to Plant Quality function.
- Communicate foreseen issues with Process Engineering, Quality function, Production function, and Industrialization team.
- Initiate job specifications in conjunction with Process Engineering for new jobs, including samples for Boundary Board development.
- Cook up initial trial runs on new processes and equipment, tracking issues for resolution.
- Initiate improvements to existing systems, process machinery, and equipment to support manufacturing functions and operations.
- Work closely with Production Leaders and Departmental Managers to ensure proper quality operations of materials and equipment on new job start-ups, and support existing production jobs as needed.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field OR High School diploma with 3+ years of rubber manufacturing experience
- Ability to communicate across multiple parts of the business
- Basic Technical Writing Skills (e.g., writing standards, product specifications)
- Basic Computer Skills including experience with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint)
- 2+ years experience in Automotive Manufacturing with a focus on New Product Introduction or Quality preferred
- Experience with Injection Molding and/or Tooling preferred
