Product & Aftermarket Support Development Associate- Chicago, IL

About the role
The Product & Aftermarket Support Development Associate will be immersed in an intense, highly structured 36-month rotation program (management has discretion to adjust duration). The program prepares candidates for full-time placement in one of the following core areas within Komatsu’s Product and Aftermarket Support Division:
- Marketing Engineering
- Product Marketing
- Intelligent Machine Control (iMC)
- Product Technical Support
- Quality Engineering
- Artificial Intelligence Systems / Development
During the rotation, the candidate may relocate temporarily to a manufacturing plant or distributor within the U.S. to gain exposure to critical business areas, with a focus on vendor recovery.
Responsibilities
- Participate in an enhanced training program to develop skills for future placement in a core business area.
- Relocate temporarily to manufacturing plants or distributors to gain hands-on experience.
- Apply academic knowledge to real-world business challenges in heavy equipment and aftermarket support.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Mining Engineering, Agricultural Mechanization, or Technical Systems Management from an accredited college/university.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0+.
- Entry-level; recently graduated or graduating engineering student.
- Prior experience with work-study programs, leadership roles, team/club participation, or professional organizations preferred.
- Prior internship with a heavy equipment or automotive manufacturer is a plus.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong motivation to contribute and drive results.
- Interest in capital goods/heavy equipment (construction, forestry, and mining support equipment).
- CAD experience, preferably ProE/Creo.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Completed software development projects is a plus.
Travel
This position requires extensive overnight travel and/or possible relocation within Komatsu’s distributor network or manufacturing locations.
Pay
Base pay range: $59,400 – $74,200. The actual offer will consider experience and location.
