Responsibilities
- Planning, creating, scripting, coordinating, producing, directing, and editing videos.
- Plans and facilitates studio and field-based video production; coordinates pre-production and production planning activities; interacts with clients; transports, sets up and operates all video and audio equipment as required.
- Plans and performs video post-production tasks including reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, audio adjustment, color correction, and final editing; creates and utilizes motion, graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with the overall production concepts; compresses video projects in various formats for output.
- Performs occasional on-camera and voice-over work for City productions.
- Makes sure City staff are covered during pertinent events and activities; assists in producing and writing promotional spots, packages, and features for City services.
- Works with City departments upon request to produce educational, training, and safety videos.
- Utilizes software suite equipment. Operates live broadcast equipment for the City Council, work sessions and other live events as required; to include control room operation of cameras and switching equipment; using motion and still graphic software to support studio and field productions; promoting and assisting with maintaining video presence on the City's website and other social media outlets.
- Schedules automated playback of produced segments and broadcasts.
- Maintains guidelines and forms for graphic and video requests.
- Provides audio/visual support to staff for internal and external purposes.
- Prepares and submits budget requests; recommends equipment purchases and replacements.
- Attends various City events to capture photo and/or video.
Qualifications
- Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible experience of professional studio and field-based video production, along with scripting and management procedures, practices, methods, techniques, and terminology.
- Proficiency: Must be proficient in non-linear editing using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in media production, communications, television broadcasting, film, journalism, advertising, public relations, or closely related field.
