About the role

SPG Specialty Program Group (SPG) is the wholesale & MGA division of HUB International, one of the 5th largest global brokers. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives on building relationships, developing new business, and delivering specialized insurance solutions to retail agents and brokers.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively prospect, schedule, and conduct in-person and virtual meetings with retail brokers and agents nationwide
  • Maintain current agency relationships
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of accounts from initial outreach through binding
  • Market business to carriers and negotiate terms
  • Serve as a consultative resource, helping retail partners with specialty lines of coverage
  • Deliver timely results to all business partners
  • Meet or exceed new business production and revenue targets

Physical Requirements

Must be able to use a computer and telephone to communicate effectively with Insureds, Agents and Underwriters

Required Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent in work experience in risk management, business administration, or related field
  • 2+ years of insurance experience in a fast-paced office environment
  • Solid knowledge of professional liability, management liability and cyber liability coverages
  • Proficient in MS Office products including: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Compensation

The compensation for this position is a variable comp structure, i.e., draw plus commission. As such, the total salary paid will vary directly depending on the successful candidate’s book of business at an particular time. The draw range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000 annually and could be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
