The Produce QC team member will assist in maintaining the highest quality produce, consistent with the longstanding reputation of Chefs Warehouse. We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated experience with fresh produce and a strong background in quality control in the food industry.
Responsibilities
- Make informed decisions about produce quality, with consideration for customer experience and shrink %
- Maintain accurate inventory by conducting daily inventory counts, as well as making accurate and timely inventory adjustments
- Cull/rework cases in an effort to reduce shrink
- Communicate effectively with operations, sales, and buying teams
- Produce reports to share interdepartmentally
Requirements
- 2-4 years experience with food, especially fresh produce
- 1-2 years warehouse experience
- Familiarity with food safety protocols
- Literacy in basic technology, including inventory management systems, Excel spreadsheets, etc.
- Efficient, with attention to detail
- Willing to work in temperatures between 37-52 degrees
- Able to lift 50lbs
