Job Summary
To maintain and operate the cut fruit and vegetable area according to department and company standards.
Essential Job Functions
- Verify and communicate the quality, count, and freshness of all products.
- Prepare all merchandise in the salad bar and cut fruit and vegetable areas. (Trimming, pricing, cooking)
- Maintain a neat and clean Prep area in accordance to department and company standards.
- Maintenance of equipment and housekeeping of coolers and sales area.
- Conduct and record temperature checks on all refrigerated coolers as well as soup temperatures.
- Communicate any temperature failures to department and store management.
- Cut and trim product for replenishing the pre-cut sections during the second shift.
- Greet all customers and be observant to people in the store.
- Abide by all company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.
Supplemental Job Functions
- Monitor inventory and supplies and notify Produce Manager when orders are needed.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
- Basic math skills and ability to accurately count product and match against invoices.
- Strong communication skills for assisting customers.
- Dexterity in hands to enable trimming and packaging of product.
- Able to unload, transport, and place merchandise in specified areas.
- Able to lift up to thirty (30) pounds, up to fifty (50) percent of the time.
- Able to stand upright for the majority of your scheduled work shift.
