Overview Of Responsibilities
- Responsible for the sales and operation of the Produce Department.
- Maintain quality control, merchandising, cleanliness, and organization of the produce department.
- Manage inventory.
- Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions, and make recommendations on merit increases via completing the bi-annual performance review process.
- Attend and participate at in-store meetings.
- Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
- Exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns.
- Take and document corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance to include coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination when needed.
- Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
- Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive.
- Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age and have 1-3 years of experience working in a grocery retail setting with management experience in produce.
- A basic knowledge of math, weights and measures.
- Good communication skills; and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
- Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.).
- Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.
- Able to perform the following: standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day and the ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 72”, for a distance up 3 feet for between 10-50 hours without mechanical assistance.
- Able to use a pallet jack to move pallets a distance up to 20 feet, requiring a force of up to 85 pounds for up to 5 hours.
- Able to maneuver six wheel carts requiring a force up to 35 lbs., up to 2 hours, a distance up to 20 feet.
- Able to walk a total up to 5 miles in an 8 hour shift should be expected.
- Achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
- Able to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
- Show outgoing and friendly behavior along with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers.
Pay Range
The pay range for this position is $21.40 - $34.25 / hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
