PRODUCE INSIDE SALES ORDER TAKER

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders for produce, deli, and floral products, accurately entering orders into the system for timely delivery.
• Take incoming calls and contact customers via phone to build and maintain relationships, meet sales goals, and resolve inquiries.
• Enter customer orders within set time frames aligned with delivery route schedules.
• Manage accounts with a focus on profitable sales, customer service, price and volume management, and product availability versus warehouse supply.
• Collaborate closely with the sales team, warehouse staff, and drivers; maintain constant communication across departments.
• Stay current on seasonal products, specials, and market trends; increase sales through cross-selling, up-selling, add-ons, and promotional items.
• Handle light collections with customers when applicable.
• Promote a positive company image and uphold the highest ethical standards.
• Maintain awareness of the competitive marketplace and effectively resolve customer complaints.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Preferred: In-depth knowledge of growing seasons, product quality, pairings, and marketing strategies within the produce industry.
• Preferred: Produce industry experience.
• At least 2 years of sales and customer service experience.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills with an understanding of potential company impact.
• Solid computer skills.
• Flexible schedule including rotating weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; self-starter with a track record of retaining, identifying, developing, and growing accounts.
• Clean 3-year driving record and ability to meet insurability requirements.

Working Environment

• Physical demands: Sitting; occasional lifting; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; significant fine finger dexterity.
• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen, and continue to satisfy the company’s drug testing policy. Federal contractor and drug-free workplace; prohibition on marijuana use applies to all employees.

Pay

Competitive compensation starting at $22.00+ per hour depending on experience.
