Produce Evening Supervisor

About the role

As an Evening Produce Department Leader at Festival Foods, you’ll support the Produce Department Manager in overseeing night operations and ensuring high standards for our fresh, nutritious fruits and vegetables. You’ll work closely with the team to meet department goals, guide associates, and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Assisting Leadership: Support the Produce Department Manager by collaborating with all Produce associates to ensure a consistently enjoyable shopping experience, adherence to company policies, and fulfillment of department goals.
• Reinforcing Culture: Promote Festival’s culture, customer service, and performance expectations to all Produce associates.
• Training Support: Assist in training new Produce associates and provide re-training as needed.
• Guidance and Support: Answer questions and offer guidance to all Produce department associates.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure department standards are met by observing sales floor and back stock conditions and correcting areas of opportunity.
• Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure accurate pricing on products.
• Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the Store Director, Produce Manager/Assistant Manager, other Department Managers, and Produce associates to uphold standards and exceed guest expectations.
• Customer Service Excellence: Provide exceptional service by assisting guests with item location, orders, and special requests. Handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally.
• Leading by Example: Assist associates with daily responsibilities while maintaining cleanliness in work areas, shelving, and the sales floor.
• Food Safety Compliance: Maintain food safety logs and ensure all quality standards are met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.
• Other Duties: Complete additional tasks as assigned and maintain regular attendance, providing adequate notice for absences.

Requirements

• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact tactfully and effectively with customers and personnel.
• Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication, capable of managing a diverse crew in a high-stress environment.
• Safety Awareness: Complete understanding of safety requirements and policies, with the ability to apply on-the-job training to recognize and react to hazards. Knowledge of equipment/procedures (e.g., slicers, lifting techniques, trash compactors, balers) is essential.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with retail food operations, perishable department management, merchandising, and timely decision-making.

Physical Demands

• Standing for extended periods.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
