Produce Associate

Position Summary

Our members value quality and freshness in their produce purchases. As a produce team member, you play a crucial role in ensuring that members and their families enjoy fresh, affordable produce. Your positive attitude and excellent customer service are key to enhancing the shopping experience.

What You'll Do

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Help educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources.
• Communicate effectively and develop interpersonal skills for providing customer service.
• Work in other areas as needed, tracking goods, maintaining in-stock levels, and controlling shrinkage.
• Understand the processes and specifications related to quality of various types of produce merchandise.
• Prepare products according to established standards, maintain product safety, and follow company sanitation guidelines.
• Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement.
• Drive the performance of the area, using digital tools, and ensuring quality and date control standards.
• Eliminate waste and guide peers and provide attention to customer needs.
• Assist customers according to company policies and procedures.
• Be an advocate for the department and the club by valuing the member's experience in the produce area and modeling high-quality service and products.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
• Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources.
• Identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations, carry out tasks, communicate progress and information, and determine and recommend ways to address improvement opportunities.
• Live Better U is a company-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with produce and a passion for customer service.
