PRODiG Plus Fellow - Computational Scientist (all disciplines), IACS

Stony Brook University’s Institute for Advanced Computational Science (IACS) invites applications through the State University of New York (SUNY) Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth Plus (PRODiG+) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program in the broadly defined area of Computational Science.

About the role

We seek candidates whose research advances computational methods in any area, inclusive of physical, environmental, social, or computational sciences; engineering; arts, humanities, or related fields. The candidate would be expected to work interdisciplinarily and could be based in any department affiliated with the IACS. The successful candidate would leverage Stony Brook University’s high-performance computing resources.

The SUNY PRODiG Plus Fellowship program offers a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the lecturer level to commence in Fall 2026. The Fellow will be part of a mentored research environment and, with successful performance and demonstrated contribution to inclusion, diversity, and equity, will be invited to join the tenure-track faculty at Stony Brook University after two years.

IACS faculty hold joint appointments with a campus department and the Institute, and are expected to develop a rigorous, interdisciplinary, and computation-forward research program that enhances both their home department and IACS. Applicants must demonstrate that computation is a core driver of their research program, not merely an auxiliary tool. Our faculty and students advance the intellectual and algorithmic foundations of computation while applying them to impactful scientific and humanistic questions.
