Procurement Supervisor

About the role

The Procurement Supervisor oversees the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle, local sourcing, and manages a team of six buyers. This role involves leading a team, supplier management, cost reduction, and ensuring compliance with SAP and other ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Operational Ownership: Supervise, coach, and evaluate a team of buyers. Establish and oversee daily priorities, assign workload, and enforce discipline and execution.
• Supplier Management & Cost Reduction: Engage with key suppliers to build strong relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and conduct cost-benefit analyses to drive cost savings.
• Procure-to-Pay (P2P) & SAP Discipline: Deliver accurate SAP / ERP system transactions, enforce same-day PO creation and expediting standards, and coordinate cross-functionally to troubleshoot discrepancies.
• Continuous Improvement & Change Leadership: Serve as a Change Champion using procurement technology tools and data analytics to optimize supply chain efficiency, manage KPIs, and enhance decision-making.
• Execution & Velocity: Passionate about problem-solving and delivering results in a fast-paced environment; able to deal with ambiguity and act independently with confidence and speed.
• Data Analytics & Cost Management: Expertise in analyzing procurement costs, conducting cost-benefit analyses, and tracking key performance indicators via SAP and Excel to make data-driven decisions.
• Cross-Functional Collaborator: High personal integrity and exceptional customer service orientation, building strong alignment across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, Capital Projects, Legal, and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, logistics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive commercial purchasing, project procurement, or supply chain experience in an industrial, mining, refining, or petrochemical processing environment.
• Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory or team leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing purchasing specialists, buyers, or expeditors (managing teams of 3+ required; 5+ preferred).
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP experience required) and advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated expertise in Procure-to-Pay (P2P) principles, commercial contract terms, total life cycle cost analysis, and industrial safety/governance standards.

Preferred Education / Certification

• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Supply Chain Management.
• CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or equivalent certification.

Pay

The expected pay range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000. The actual pay rate offered may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or education.

Safety Provision

Employees are responsible for following all company, industry and regulatory procedures and laws to ensure a safe work environment for themselves and the company. Employees must have a willingness to promote safety among the workforce, participate in Process Hazard Analysis procedures and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews. (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment is required when performing work in a mine, manufacturing, outdoor, or plant environment.

Working Conditions

The facility sits at an elevation of 4,700 feet. Employees may be subject to extreme weather conditions when working in an outdoor setting (heat and cold, wind). Work is at an open pit mine or manufacturing/chemical plant setting, which may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles.

While performing the job responsibilities, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employees must pass a full-face respiratory fit test. Employees must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work in PPE level C.
