Our client is a global leader in full-service sulfur removal, caustic treating, and spent caustic treatment technologies.
About the role
Manage the procurement of goods and services to support production schedules and cost goals for project and overhead items.
Responsibilities
- Issuance of all purchase orders and blanket purchase orders (BPA) releases for bulk materials, transportation, shop services, sub-supplier services, etc. (POs over $270k)
- Contact vendors to obtain purchase order completion percentages for accounting forecasting
- Perform material take-offs, bidding, and order placement for all bulk materials
- Purchase engineered equipment and instrumentation based on RFQ packages from engineering
- Route quotations to the correct engineering discipline for approval to purchase engineered equipment, instrumentation, and subcontract services
- Communicate issues to suppliers when material problems arise in the shop
- Define material requirements and documentation requirements in accordance with project specifications
- Assist proposal group during bid phase on material pricing and availability, particularly when information is not in the estimating database
- Participate in exceptions/clarifications and specification summaries during the estimate phase of projects
- Assist Design, Process, and Mechanical Engineering in specifying materials in association with costs and availability
- Perform design verification of drawings before issuance for construction (along with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams)
- Handle departmental staff recruitment, development, training, and management
- Serve as a Business Central SuperUser
- Train new buyers with Business Central responsibilities
- Assist with procurement-related issues as needed
- Support other business units on procurement activities
- Assist FTC as needed to submit orders and create POs
- Support site operations
- Write POs for all Facilities needs, per Facilities Manager
- Create an annual report of rented or leased equipment for the Treasurer
- Maintain supplier registry in SharePoint
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Construction experience, particularly in buying bulk equipment
- Supply management experience
- Minimum of five years of procurement experience and ten years of supervisory experience
- Understanding of ASME industry codes and standards
- Computer software literacy
