Procurement Specialist
About the Role
This position is responsible for day-to-day and strategic supplier management, including purchase order placement, follow-up, issue resolution, communication of demand and forecasts, contract preparation, and acting as the lead negotiator. The role involves developing commercial strategies for product and/or service contracts, managing supplier relationships and performance metrics, and mitigating risks that could impact business objectives.
This individual operates in compliance with corporate and Supply Chain policies and procedures, primarily overseeing strategic or complex suppliers. While there are no direct reports, the role collaborates within a team structure and reports to a Site Sourcing Manager or Supply Chain Manager. The position also involves leading projects from conception to maturity to support organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Continuously practices and demonstrates Safety and adherence to Our Values in Action.
- Evaluates, improves, and sustains supplier performance in areas such as Quality, Cost, Delivery, Lead-time, Bid & Proposal Turn-times, Project & Field Support, etc.
- Drives cost management through identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities, utilizing cost modeling techniques, and analyzing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Manages and maintains supplier relationships at both day-to-day (e.g., purchase order issuance, grief resolution, business review meetings) and strategic levels (e.g., defining and executing strategic direction such as Hold, Grow, Consolidate, Exit).
- Develops a network to leverage internal and external relationships for improving responsiveness and service levels.
- Leads commercial negotiations and is accountable for contract execution and maintenance (e.g., NDAs, GPs, PSAs, JDAs).
- Initiates and promotes cross-functional teaming in supplier development, problem resolution, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Supports New Product Introduction (NPI), global strategic sourcing, and supplier selection to ensure flexible capacity and consistent supply from qualified suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of experience.
- Commercial experience in supplier management and contract negotiation.
- Experience with ERP software and proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio).
- Fluent in Business English (written and oral).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Supply Chain Certification from a professional institution (e.g., APICS, IIPMR, ISCEA, ISM).
- Understanding and demonstration of 6-Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- 6-Sigma Blackbelt Certification.

Pay
Summary pay range: $112,704.00 - $169,056.00. Compensation and benefits may vary depending on job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
