Procurement Specialist
About the role
A typical day involves addressing short-term logistical issues, reviewing performance dashboards with KPIs on budget, delivery, transport damage, responsiveness, and risk mitigation, and coordinating with logistics partners to drive continuous improvement. You will conduct supplier performance reviews, participate in project steering committees to present logistics concepts, and monitor critical shipments.
Responsibilities
- Manage and control both simple and complex international logistics projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, contractual provisions, costs, prices, and deadlines.
- Provide personal attention to high-priority logistics operations to meet or exceed service requirements.
- Create and maintain a KPI dashboard to measure logistics performance.
- Focus on problem-solving and improvement initiatives to support world-class logistics as Siemens Energy Blades & Vanes expands globally.
- Enforce contractual clauses when service levels fall short.
Requirements
- Degree (Bachelor or Master) in Business Administration or a similar field, preferably with a focus on Logistics.
- 8+ years of professional experience in Logistics, ideally in designing, proposing, calculating, and executing international projects with customer- and country-specific requirements.
- Experience working in international cross-functional teams, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, with strong logistical and contract law knowledge.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required by project and business needs.
- Experience in risk, claim, and opportunity management, along with related process knowledge, is desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in German and English, with excellent MS Office and SAP knowledge.
- Must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work visa.

This role is part of the Gas Services division, which focuses on low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. The division encompasses all gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators, offering decarbonization opportunities through modernization, digitalization, and service offerings.
