  • Maintain organized purchasing records and monitor procurement activity using spreadsheets, SharePoint, and the DatCor system.
  • Analyze vendor quotes and market options in Excel to support cost-conscious decisions and reliable material supply.
  • Work effectively in a small, high-speed office setting where priorities can shift quickly and procurement needs may change with little notice.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve sourcing challenges, including reaching out to unconventional or competitive sources when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain support within an industrial, manufacturing, or chemical-related environment.
  • Background in buying raw materials or other high-volume commodities, preferably including bulk liquid chemical products.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate confidently with suppliers and secure favorable commercial terms.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage purchase orders, vendor information, and pricing data accurately.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking, comparing, and analyzing procurement information.
  • Familiarity with procurement systems or ERP platforms; exposure to SharePoint or DatCor/Chempax is beneficial.
  • Ability to build strong vendor relationships while remaining persistent and effective in challenging negotiations.
