Job Responsibilities
- Source and purchase parts and materials to meet order requirements and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Monitor and expedite purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and appropriate lead times.
- Verify that all materials meet required specifications; coordinate with vendors for specification approvals when needed.
- Manage returns to manufacturers and ensure accurate documentation.
- Data & System Maintenance:
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, including purchase orders and reports.
- Update ERP system with current cost data and part/material information.
- Ensure purchasing files are organized and up to date.
- Problem Resolution & Collaboration:
- Identify and resolve issues related to purchasing or inventory discrepancies.
- Work closely with internal departments to address and resolve cross-functional challenges.
- Provide prompt and courteous responses to internal and external inquiries.
- Vendor Relations:
- Build and maintain professional relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Ensure all transactions, including purchase orders and returns, are processed within required timeframes.
Qualifications
- Experience in inventory control, purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or materials management.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to resolve inventory and purchasing discrepancies.
- Good communication skills for working with vendors and internal departments.
- Experience using an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics) - Preferred.
