Procurement Specialist

About the role
FP Procurement plays a critical role in supporting and enabling the company's strategies and operations. We are seeking an indirect procurement specialist to execute end-to-end buying activities in support of Marketing, Cloud, Technology, Professional Services, and other indirect categories. This individual will contribute to process optimization, category strategy refresh, and cross-functional projects.
Responsibilities
- Follow established category strategies, business strategies, and processes to complete purchasing transactions in support of the assigned business areas and categories.
- Purchase transactions typically include reviewing, verifying, and attaining approvals for requisitions; resolving issues according to established standards; negotiating contracts and pricing under the guidance of senior team members where appropriate; issuing purchase orders; resolving relevant issues.
- Contribute to process optimization, category strategy refresh, and cross-functional projects; lead some of these efforts under the guidance of senior team members where appropriate.
- Support or lead improvement efforts in areas such as P2P, Vendor Management, Travel, Reporting, and analytics.
- Maintain vendor relationships, address vendor performance issues or concerns, resolve communication breakdowns.
- Liaise between Procurement and other corporate functional areas, including Finance & Accounting, Legal, Facilities, IT, Sales & Marketing, Operations, and Engineering.
- Analyze past and present spend data, manage small projects and meet timelines.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and concise reports, specifications, correspondence, and other written materials.
- Comfort with or curiosity about AI tools is a plus. We encourage the use of platforms such as the Forcepoint Intelligence Platform and Claude AI to streamline workflows, analyze spend data, and drive efficiencies across the procurement function.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent.
- Eagerness to learn, develop, and grow with an open mind.
- A strong career growth mindset.
- 2-4 years of work experience in purchasing/procurement department.
- Experience in supporting Marketing is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret data and develop insights for high-volume/complex data sets.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Workday Strategic Sourcing or similar ERP systems is a strong plus.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office software.
Qualifications
- The salary range and variable compensation for this role is $60,000.00 - $80,000.00.
- Actual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to, location, experience, and performance.
