Primary Objectives of Position
This role will be responsible for executing FlexiVan’s procurement strategies aimed at driving cost control, developing key vendor/supplier partnerships, fulfilling operational needs, and diversifying supplier sourcing to minimize procurement risks. Provide analytical support for the procurement of services and materials which will include depot services, nationwide parts program, new build chassis projects, reconditioning projects, and drayage procurement.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Procurement of services
- Participate in supplier evaluation and selection
- Work with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain strategic vendor relationships
- Contract negotiations, locating and setting up new vendors
- Work closely with Legal to ensure supplier contract terms are compliant and support Company interests and strategies.
Analyze Procurement Efforts
- Develop, manage, and monitor all Operations Capital Expenditure projects including equipment new build programs, equipment reconditioning programs, and GPS module acquisitions
- Track capital expenditure performance of actual spend to the planned spend and will collaborate and verify with Finance
- Develop and maintain KPIs and trend performance data
Vendor Management
- Conduct routine cost-benefit analysis and contribute to continual vendor review and optimization
- Auxiliary with managing the Depot Quality Assurance Program
- Support operations by monitoring performance of various M&R vendors and part suppliers
- Auxiliary with audits of product quality, billing accuracy, and other KPI related items
- Keep track of vendor and supplier-related activities in the industry
GPS Contract Management
- Monitor telematics provider contract performance
- Ensure contract auto renewal is managed with the best interests of FlexiVan kept in mind
- Develop and maintain compliance data and reporting
KPI and Performance Metrics
- Assist with data gathering, data integrity, analysis, and reporting
Job Specifications
Minimum Education / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, economics, finance, statistics or other related fields of study.
- Minimum Years of Relevant Experience: 0-2+ years of working experience in operations, procurement, contracts, or finance.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Microsoft Excel – ability to create worksheets, charts/graphs, data tables, pivot tables
- Office 365 suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, SharePoint
- PPT – ability to create PowerPoint slides, insert graphics/images/shapes, animate slides
Other Preferred (but not required) Skills
- Prior working experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or intermodal/shipping domain
- Business or quantitative degree
- Working knowledge of financial practices and methods and exposure to strategic sourcing concepts
