About the role

A growing infrastructure-focused organization is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support procurement, material coordination, and project execution activities. This role is responsible for helping ensure critical projects remain organized, adequately supplied, and on schedule by coordinating purchasing activities, supplier interactions, and material tracking. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys supporting cross-functional teams in a project-based environment.

Responsibilities

Procurement & Material Coordination

  • Coordinate procurement and material requirements for engineering and infrastructure-related projects.
  • Prepare and maintain requests for quotations, bid evaluations, purchase requisitions, and procurement records.
  • Obtain and review vendor quotations while supporting supplier communications and procurement tracking activities.
  • Coordinate material purchases, deliveries, inventory tracking, and allocation activities.
  • Monitor long-lead-time equipment and support resolution of material shortages, delivery issues, and warranty-related concerns.

Project Support & Administration

  • Maintain procurement, material tracking, and supplier performance records.
  • Support purchase order processing, invoice reconciliation, and supplier agreement administration.
  • Prepare procurement updates and material status reports for project teams and management.
  • Assist with forecasting, sourcing coordination, and procurement process improvements.
  • Ensure project-related documentation is accurate, organized, and readily available.

Supplier & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with suppliers, project managers, engineers, finance teams, and operational personnel to support project success.
  • Support supplier performance monitoring and communication activities.
  • Assist in resolving procurement, delivery, and documentation issues.
  • Foster strong working relationships across multiple departments and external partners.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, material coordination, project administration, engineering support, construction support, or related operational environments.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, recordkeeping, communication, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Background

  • Experience supporting infrastructure, utility, construction, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with purchasing systems, inventory management, ERP systems, or work management platforms.
  • Ability to read technical documentation, specifications, or engineering drawings.
  • Experience coordinating materials and equipment for project-based environments.
