Procurement Specialist 2

About the role

The Procurement Specialist acts as the company’s purchasing agent for raw materials and related services, ensuring compliance with Procurement and Company policies to meet plant quality and production goals at the lowest overall cost.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and coordinate purchase contract negotiations with suppliers and company end users.
• Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize performance, considering total cost implications.
• Engage end users in complex negotiations and occasionally analyze supplier operations to assess capability.
• Optimize supply base size and initiate requests for quotations; recommend and take appropriate action.
• Maintain records and documentation to ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Resolve discrepancies such as pricing issues, warranty claims, specification non-compliance, and over shipments.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Comply with and support PCC Code of Conduct, Company policies, AS9100, SOX requirements, and all PCC Cardinal Rules, including EHS and Quality.
• Adhere to Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Requirements

• Ability to lift 35 lbs.
• Ability to work in a shop environment.
• Experience reading/interpreting aerospace specifications (AMS, ASTM, and other OEM specs).
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to make decisions and work under minimal supervision.
• Understanding of procurement policies, procedures, and practices.
• Willingness to pursue professional development as needed.
• Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations with suppliers, peers, and customers.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed.
• Intermediate working knowledge of MRP and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); advanced Excel skills preferred.
