About the role

We are seeking a Lead Specialist to manage high-complexity commodities within procurement sourcing teams, focusing on auto parts pricing, investments, and cost reduction strategies that impact financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Establish part and supplier strategies by understanding global and North American supply bases, manufacturing processes, and design elements.
• Propose optimal suppliers for quality, cost, and delivery.
• Maintain supplier relationships at senior levels.
• Lead cost reduction initiatives targeting significant annual savings.
• Develop and manage commodity strategies.
• Monitor industry trends.
• Manage multiple model developments.
• Lead negotiations.
• Support special projects such as geopolitical impacts.
• Mentor team members.
• Ensure project and business plan goals are met.
• Manage a substantial annual spend.
• Oversee indirect reports.
• Work in a hybrid environment with domestic and international travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Purchasing or related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong project management skills.

• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and possibly Catia.
