About the Opportunity

The Procurement Sourcing Specialist is responsible for managing sourcing and negotiation processes across multiple spending categories within the procurement team. This role ensures efficient purchasing workflows, collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders, and uses data analysis to identify savings opportunities. The position contributes to streamlining procurement operations and supporting organizational goals through effective vendor management and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead vendor negotiations including commercial terms, pricing, discounts, payment terms, and renewals.
  • Conduct competitive sourcing events and provide clear recommendations based on bid comparisons.
  • Prepare for negotiations using benchmarks and usage data; document outcomes and savings.
  • Manage renewal schedules to prevent surprise auto-renewals.
  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, coordinating with Legal, Security, IT, and Finance.
  • Maintain progress on purchase requests, set expectations, and escalate issues promptly.
  • Manage supplier onboarding and maintain accurate supplier records.
  • Keep detailed, auditable transaction records including approvals and agreements.
  • Analyze spend data to identify consolidation opportunities and pricing anomalies.
  • Report on savings, cost avoidance, cycle times, and spend management metrics.
  • Support budget planning with spend insights and renewal forecasts.
  • Enhance the internal procurement experience by improving guidance and reducing friction.
  • Serve as a point of contact for procurement policies and purchasing inquiries.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or strategic purchasing with vendor negotiation.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Solid understanding of finance fundamentals.
  • Customer-service orientation toward internal stakeholders.
  • Self-driven with the ability to prioritize and manage tasks independently.
  • Adaptability to evolving functions and fast-paced industry changes.
  • Excellent communication skills and credibility in negotiations.

Special Consideration:

  • Experience in high-growth technology or SaaS environments.
  • Familiarity with procurement tools such as P2P platforms, CLM, ERP, and spend visibility software.
  • Knowledge of contract terms and third-party risk concepts including DPAs, GDPR, SOC 2, and AI/data-use policies.
  • Experience with global, multi-entity purchasing, including multi-currency and regional tax considerations.

Pay Range and Compensation Package

The typical starting salary range for this role in the US is $103,000 to $170,000 USD. In premium markets such as the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City Metro Area, the range is $110,000 to $185,000 USD. Actual compensation depends on factors including education, experience, location, and business needs.
