About the role

The Platform Modernization (PM) team is currently looking for a Procurement Planning Control Representative.

Responsibilities

• Sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods and related material through production and inventory process.
• Identifies raw material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules.
• Purchases, plans, and coordinates resulting material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences.
• In front-end procurement mode, analyzes data and determines factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
• Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, approves payment, and maintains necessary records of material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory cycle(s).
• Covers coordination and follow-up with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services.

Requirements

• 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
• Experience obtaining vendor quotes and validating cost, lead time, and vendor reliability per Statement of Work (SOW) requirements.
• Strong communication and coordination skills for interacting with vendors, suppliers, task leads, and management.
• Able to coordinate deliveries and pickups to maintain task schedules.
• Able to generate management reports on materials and funding status.

Bonus Points

• For Defense contracting or DoD program support experience.
• Procurement/requisition process experience.
• Knowledge of Costpoint (Deltek) software.
• Success in fast-paced, detail-oriented, deadline-driven environments.
• Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.

Physical Requirements

• May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
• Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
