Procurement Manager - Commodities
The Procurement Manager
The Procurement Manager will be based out of our Burlington, MA headquarters and will report to the Senior Director, Strategic Procurement.
- Oversee raw material and ingredient sourcing across multiple manufacturing locations
- Work cross-functionally to secure supply, ensure cost competitiveness, sustainability, and maximum procurement value
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain commodity markets and track sourcing performance metrics
- Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives, RFx processes, negotiations, and market-driven purchasing decisions using TCO methodology
- Develop and maintain annual category strategies and sourcing plans aligned with demand forecasts, market trends, and risk assessments
- Analyze, report, and forecast KPIs including PPV/IPV, savings, supplier performance, contract compliance, supply continuity, customer satisfaction, and pricing benchmarks
- Identify and qualify new suppliers to improve cost, quality, resilience, and supply chain efficiency
- Implement supplier agreements, monitor compliance, manage commodity allocations, and support contract development with Legal
- Manage supplier performance reviews, cost reduction initiatives, issue resolution, and supplier development activities
- Manage critical spot buys
- Respond to supply disruptions, seasonal demand spikes, and emergency sourcing needs
- Partner with R&D, Quality, Operations, FSQA, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams to support ingredient optimization, vendor qualification, NPD, and co-manufacturing initiatives
- Manage day-to-day activities and development of Procurement Analyst

Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations, economics, or related field
- 5+ years of strategic sourcing or procurement experience, preferably in food, pet food, or agricultural commodities
- Strong knowledge of commodity markets, supplier management, and sourcing strategies
- Experience managing RFx processes, negotiations, and cost-saving initiatives
- Understanding of total cost of ownership (TCO), risk management, and supplier performance metrics
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders at multiple levels
- Proficiency with data analysis and sourcing tools
- Ability to travel domestically up to 30%

The annual salary range for this position is $101,600 to $148,300, based on a full-time work schedule, anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational equity. Compensation may vary within that pay range depending on the selected candidate’s professional background, experience, operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
The full compensation details will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer and may include eligibility for participation in a bonus program.
