Procurement Lead - Onshore Wind (Anticipated Opening)
About the role
Turner & Townsend invites you to join our expanding team in the US (New York, Houston and/or Chicago) as the Procurement Lead. Initially supporting a leading developer of renewable energy assets, you will manage major procurement and contracts management initiatives. Over time, you will support our growth across the renewable energy sector.
Responsibilities
- Planning, implementation, and execution of procurement and/or tender strategies
- Draft and negotiate contracts including service, consultancy, supply, and installation contracts
- Support and advise clients on ad-hoc issues
- Lead and coordinate commercial, technical, financial, and legal expertise from both clients and within Turner & Townsend, ensuring compliance with clients' governance and approval procedures
- Lead and perform the complete procurement process, including issuing requests for information, proposals, and tenders, evaluating proposals, recommending awards, and finalizing contracts
- Ensure procurement process execution aligns with client policies and procedures, and document for transparency and traceability
- Identify value items and tender strategy based on defined awarding criteria
- Coordinate information flow internally and externally, keeping stakeholders informed on progress
- Finalize commercial and contractual deals as a basis for finalization using standard general conditions or managing exceptions with legal and main stakeholders
- Achieve maximum value while minimizing risks, finding compromises and solutions under time pressure
- Participate in vendor relationship management, including communications, regular meetings, maintaining and improving vendor and market knowledge
- Draft and negotiate main contracts throughout project development and execution
- Work with project management team to ensure successful project delivery, balancing risk with viable solutions
- Manage changes, variations, and claims in project execution, ensuring compliance with client's commercial interests
- Provide contract interpretation, organize and process correspondence, and monitor fulfillment of contractual obligations
- Communicate and maintain dialogue with contractors during project execution phase, addressing issues proactively
- Ensure timely contract delivery within set mandate
- Drive governance processes and present materials to stakeholders and decision bodies such as the Steering Committee
- Contribute to process development in contract management
- Assume Director/Project Director level responsibilities
Requirements
- Specific experience with WTG procurement and negotiation of turbine supply agreements (TSAs) and other turbine-related contracts
- Knowledge of and experience dealing with WTG OEMs and supply chains (GE Vernova, Vestas, Nordex, Enercon, etc.)
- Essential onshore wind experience
- Required US market experience

Benefits
Salary range for this full-time role is $180K-$200K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate's experience and qualifications.
