Procurement Consultant

We are looking for a Procurement Consultant to support strategic sourcing and purchasing activities for a leading organization in the health pharm/biotech industry in New York, New York. This is a long-term contract position.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle procurement activities, from sourcing and vendor engagement through contract execution and ongoing supplier coordination.
• Negotiate commercial terms and pricing agreements with vendors to secure favorable outcomes aligned with business objectives.
• Review purchasing needs and support buying processes by preparing and managing purchase order-related activities as required.
• Analyze spend patterns and purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities, supplier trends, and areas for improved efficiency.
• Validate pricing structures and cost details to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with procurement expectations.
• Assess bid submissions by comparing proposals, reviewing commercial value, and helping stakeholders select the most suitable options.
• Prepare procurement recommendations and analysis summaries to support decision-making across sourcing initiatives.
• Partner with internal teams to ensure procurement functions are executed effectively and contract requirements are properly addressed.

Requirements

• Experience in corporate procurement with strong knowledge of end-to-end sourcing and purchasing practices.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts and commercial terms with suppliers in a detail-oriented business environment.
• Hands-on experience supporting purchase orders and broader buying process activities.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in spend analysis, cost review, and pricing validation.
• Ability to evaluate and compare bid proposals using both quantitative and qualitative criteria.
• Solid understanding of procurement functions, supplier management, and contract documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
