About the Opportunity
The Procurement Category Management Manager leads category strategy, supplier management, sourcing, commercial negotiations, and risk mitigation for a significant portfolio of spend. This role helps shape the supply base supporting innovative nutrition brands while driving sustainable value, supplier collaboration, productivity, and continuous improvement. The position works cross-functionally to optimize sourcing decisions and strengthen long-term business performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long-term category sourcing strategies to minimize risk and financial exposure while maintaining sourcing flexibility.
- Optimize sourcing processes, supplier selection, pricing, and commercial agreements.
- Build and manage a pipeline of continuous improvement initiatives to deliver year-over-year productivity gains.
- Track and validate savings in partnership with Finance.
- Manage supplier performance and lead regular business reviews with functional partners.
- Develop and implement supplier improvement plans when performance gaps arise.
- Drive sustainable sourcing initiatives, including greenhouse gas reduction and upstream supply chain traceability.
- Support new product and technology launches by leveraging strategic supplier partnerships.
- Utilize digital, automated, and AI-enabled platforms to improve procurement processes, including tail spend management.
- Manage budgets and monthly price forecasts using cost models, market intelligence, and relevant procurement tools.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, commercial, corporate, and other cross-functional teams to develop effective sourcing strategies.
- Lead complex initiatives and influence stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- MBA desirable but not required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Procurement, Category Management, or a related function.
- Proven experience developing and executing sourcing strategies that deliver measurable business value.
- Strong expertise in direct raw materials categories, ideally within the food, pharmaceutical, chemical, nutraceutical, or consumer health industries.
- Experience collaborating across manufacturing, commercial, and corporate functions.
- Strong ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Familiarity with AI-based procurement platforms and tools.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to operate effectively in fast-changing and ambiguous environments.
- Strong leadership capabilities, including relationship building, emotional intelligence, and visionary thinking.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to solve complex business problems.
- Strong learning agility, critical thinking, business acumen, and project management skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities, including data analysis and business process evaluation.

Pay
Annual salary range: $117,341–$153,349. Eligible for bonus compensation.
