Procurement Buyer

About the role

The Buyer is responsible for assisting in the selection and purchasing of quality products at our Production facility in Midland, TX from global and domestic suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery of goods.

Responsibilities

• Buy direct material parts from global suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers.
• Provide buying benefits such as savings, better lead times, and improved terms.
• Ensure timely supply, following through from ordering to delivery.
• Transact and place Purchase Orders for Direct Material Needs in NetSuite.
• Maintain records and estimated delivery dates in NetSuite.
• Keep supplier and parts attributes in NetSuite up to date.
• Own supplier lead times and work on improving them.
• Resolve Procurement-Receiving issues and disputed items for purchased goods.
• Resolve Supplier Accounts Payable disputes.
• Assist in maintaining current inventory.
• Research, analyze, and forecast current and future buying trends and products.
• Maintain relationships with assigned wholesalers, vendors, and suppliers.
• Assist in negotiating contracts with select wholesalers, vendors, and suppliers.
• Support procurement of goods and services for assigned projects.
• Assist commodities in managing procurement and inventory levels.
• Maintain healthy commercial relationships with suppliers.
• Maintain relationships with internal customers.
• Provide clear reporting of progress and expected deliveries.
• Perform other related duties as assigned; infrequent travel may be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and NetSuite or related software.
• Ability to compile information and data to make decisions.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ERPs and Purchasing Modules.
• Experience negotiating supply chain contracts.
• 3 years of relevant experience for Senior Buyer level.
