About the role

The New York City Police Department's Fleet Services Division is responsible for the repair and upkeep of all NYPD vehicles and vehicles contracted from other city agencies. The Division is seeking a qualified Procurement Analyst to review bids and proposals submitted by vendors wishing to do business with FSD. The role involves acquiring goods and services, following up on delivery issues, and utilizing various procurement-related systems. The assignment is within the Fiscal Unit of FSD, requiring strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Review bids and proposals from vendors.
  • Acquire goods and services for FSD.
  • Follow up on problems relating to the delivery of goods and services.
  • Utilize procurement-related systems to complete tasks.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and six months of satisfactory full-time professional experience in procurement of goods, services, construction, or construction-related services, or professional, technical, or administrative experience in contract negotiation/management; OR
  • An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college, and 18 months of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described above; OR
  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and two and one-half years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described above; OR
  • A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to the above. College education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits for 6 months of experience. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its equivalent and 6 months of the described experience.

Special Notes:

  • To be eligible for Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, either one year served at Assignment Level I or one additional year of the described experience.
  • To be eligible for Assignment Level III, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, either one year served at Assignment Level II or two additional years of the described experience, at least one year of which must have been supervisory or equivalent to Assignment Level III duties.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of FMS, Vendex, Passport, and M/WBE 55a Program.

Pay

$48,104.00 – $81,593.00

Schedule

0700–1500, Monday–Friday

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
