Responsibilities
- Receives and reviews field requisitions for completeness and accuracy; confers with requestors when clarification is needed.
- Issues purchase orders, releases material from existing purchase orders, and ensures timely delivery and back orders.
- Secures vendor quotations on requisitions and processes them.
- Generates bid invitations for RFQ/RFPs and performs leveling of vendor quotations.
- Aids in generating submittal information for requested commodities, supplies, or equipment, collaborating with requesting departments to identify needs.
- Issues change orders as required in accordance with revised Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Expedites material and supplies, follows-up to maintain optimal field production, and handles returns to ensure proper and timely credits.
- Reviews and approves invoices, interfaces with vendors and accounts payable to resolve issues, and performs additional duties as directed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of purchasing or related field experience in the electrical industry.
- Proficiency in computer systems, particularly Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Oracle (preferred).
- Prioritization and management of multiple tasks, adapting to changing priorities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
- Self-motivation, proactivity, and teamwork skills.
- Professional interaction with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.
- Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of purchasing or related field experience in the electrical industry.
- Proficiency in computer systems, particularly Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Oracle (preferred).
