Duties
- Manages the purchasing cycle of all goods and services for Public Health
- Receives and processes goods for quality control
- Completes formal and informal bidding
- Documents and analyzes purchasing processes and procedures
- Identifies sources of supply and obtains competitive pricing
- Completes invoicing of reconciled purchases
- Ensures purchasing compliance
- Affirms effective working relationships with staff and vendors
- Aids with budget and accounting functions
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Experience with large scale purchasing methods and procedures
- Understanding of procurement principles, policies, and procedures, including knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
- Experience working with procurement bid documents and bidding processes
- Experience Problem Solving And Critical Thinking Skills
- Ability to independently compose bidding documents and correspondence
- Ability to balance and prioritize procurement requests in a high-volume environment
- Ability to research different materials, commodities, and services
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with coursework in accounting or related field
- Two (2) years of procurement or related experience
Special knowledge abilities, skills, physical requirements and other factors
- Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Forms, Teams, etc.)
- Cognito
- Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of local government purchasing rules and regulations
- Communication skills
Physical Demands
- Performs sedentary work that involves walking and standing majority of the time
- Involves exerting up to 50lbs of force on a regular and recurring basis
