Procurement Analyst

About the role
This position is part of the Governance team, which assists category directors to ensure compliance with processes, standardize and document procedures, and identify areas for improvement in the procurement department.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction, guidance, and assistance to agency staff, vendors, and other stakeholders related to procurement.
- Assist with problem resolution and administration of contracts.
- Facilitate communication between vendors, the agency, and employees.
- Maintain vendor contacts to investigate discrepancies, exchange information, and resolve issues.
- Troubleshoot problems related to procurement, including system issues or discrepancies.
- Provide input on solutions and suggestions for improvements to contract management, procurement, and supplier performance.
- Create and interpret complex quantitative and qualitative analyses, form hypotheses, synthesize conclusions, and assist in implementing change.
This position is exempt from overtime compensation. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of the principles of complicated contract management and negotiation.
- Ability to assist with client relationship development, problem identification, analysis, and resolution, data-intensive analysis, contract negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to assist with drafting complex contracts for commodities and services.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft E-Procurement or another ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Procurement and Financial system is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of contract management principles for various commodities and services.
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE) and at least 3+ years of experience in vendor/contract management, supplier performance, sourcing, or procurement applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role. A degree is not required.
- Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.

Pay
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00.
