Processing Technician Days

About the Role

Furnishes sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment, and services for the care and treatment of patients. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of MercyOne.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates dirty equipment and supplies.
• Prepares non-sterile portable equipment and supplies for use.
• Inspects and assembles instruments in accordance with Pick card (Instrument assembly).
• Distributes and stores sterile supplies.
• Loads and unloads sterilization cart and stores items in proper location (Sterilization of equipment).
• Adheres to all safety, infection control, and colleague health policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Requires the ability to read, write, and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff, and physicians while performing job duties.
• Minimum of 6 months experience working with surgical instruments and assisting in patient care preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to make decisions without supervision and work collaboratively with others as a team.
• Ability to perform under stressful situations and prioritize according to the urgent needs of the department.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, surgical instruments, and sterilization principles.

Schedule

Includes a weekend and holiday rotation.
