Processing Technician

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exemplify Amcor Behaviors and Values.
  • Work professionally with other processing technicians and maintenance personnel to maintain equipment.
  • Resolve minor machine issues and record production data.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions for machine and molding issues.
  • Track downtime, quality performance, and machine efficiency.
  • Train personnel to enhance technical capabilities and experience.
  • Evaluate product quality from newly set-up machines.
  • Respond to reported machine/mold issues.
  • Start-up and shut-down molding machines as necessary.
  • Perform material and color changes proficiently.
  • Communicate changes and important information to the Manager or Supervisor.
  • Ensure system performance optimization and safety.
  • Work with assembly line operators as needed.
  • Follow and enforce environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly stand for long periods.
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • Frequent exposure to production floor.
  • Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Education, Skills, and Physical Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior plastic injection molding experience is preferred.
  • Technical understanding of injection-molding processes and procedures.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Good vision, including distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
