Processing Tech III

Responsibilities

• Process parts to meet Government, Manufacturing and Environmental Specifications
• Clean parts free of oil and grease per departmental specifications
• Ensure parts are clean prior to chemical immersion
• Sort parts to separate media, defected parts, FOD and uniformity
• Paint, Dip, Hand blast and Tumble parts
• Strip all coatings from OD/ID of parts Olive drab chromate with color or clear after CAD
• Plate Machines required to use; Hand Blast, Auto Blast, Tumble DeBurr, Jenfab, Hoist, and Spin Dryer, lube booth equipment
• Apply copper, nickel, silver, zinc and cadmium coatings to metal parts and conversion coatings to cadmium plated and aluminum parts
• Makes voltage and amperage adjustments to proper current density of plating baths
• Maintains pH level and proper chemical concentrations of all plating baths
• Performs hydrogen relief treatments after plating and chemical cleaning operations as required by applicable specifications
• Inspects a representative sample of each plating load to ensure proper coverage and adhesion
• Measures plating thickness utilizing x-ray method and instruments such as micrometer, magna-gage and dermitron
• Purges plating solutions periodically by carbon treating and dummy plating and maintains plating solution cleanliness
• Parts to be lifted and/or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs
• Train other operators as required
• Maintains a clean and orderly workplace in accordance with 5S standards
• Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required

Qualifications

• 3+ years of aerospace plating experience or relevant industry
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States
