Process Tech III
About the role
The Process Technician III leads a team of process technicians to optimize equipment performance and meet production goals. This role supports production supervisors in resource planning and allocation, ensures timely execution of preventive maintenance, organizes and oversees machine and material changes, performs advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on machines and automation equipment, drives process improvements, collaborates with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams, ensures compliance with safety protocols, promotes a culture of safety and accountability, and provides training and mentorship to junior technicians.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the activities of process technicians to optimize equipment performance and meet production goals.
- Support production supervisors in resource planning and allocation to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Ensure timely execution of preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and proper documentation through MES systems.
- Organize and oversee machine and material changes, ensuring alignment with KPIs for efficiency and quality.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on machines, automation equipment, and auxiliary systems.
- Program, set up, and optimize multi-axis robots (e.g., Sepro, YUMI), various machines, and related automation equipment.
- Drive process improvements, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to maintain product quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to support equipment upgrades, new product introductions, and process optimization.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, maintain a clean work environment, and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians, ensuring technical growth and process consistency across the team.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in the plastic injection molding industry as a Process Technician.
- 2+ years of experience in programming and troubleshooting multi-axis robots and automation systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using various hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and process documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).
- Effective communication skills in English to ensure adherence to procedures and specifications.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Applied Science, Scientific Injection Molding, Industrial Automation, Robotics, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
- RJG Scientific Injection Molding training or certification.
- CNC machining knowledge or certification.
- Experience with Arburg touch screen injection molding machines and dual injection molding machines.
- Strong knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost optimization techniques.
- Lear Manufacturing knowledge, including 5S, continuous improvement, and waste reduction methodologies.
- Experience in programming Sepro and YUMI Robots.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

Pay
The Pay Range is $33.98 - $49.32 per hour. This posting is for an existing vacancy within our business.
