Processing Supervisor - Overnights

The Wakefield facility is one of the largest production sites within Michael Foods, serving as a flex plant producing whole pasteurized eggs, liquid, dried, hardboiled eggs, and curds.
Responsibilities
The Production Supervisor oversees a team responsible for completing production and sanitation tasks, planning, directing, and coordinating work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing food products while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, quantity specifications, and cost. This role ensures compliance with all company and regulatory processes, including Safety, Food Safety, Human Resources, and job-specific requirements, and works to continuously improve production and sanitation best practices.
- Leads team members to support safety, food safety, operations, sanitation, and personnel development.
- Ensures a safe and healthy workplace and keeps management informed about operational, quality, safety issues, employee concerns, and production cost control.
- Adheres to safe work practices, GMPs, and maintains product quality; reports any conditions affecting food safety, quality, or personnel safety to management.
- Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone; adheres to all safety policies and procedures and incorporates safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
- Produces the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost consistent with good manufacturing practices.
- Recognizes and resolves operating problems to minimize their impact on operations.
- Requests and directs services of maintenance, sanitation, and other personnel as necessary to achieve production, sanitation, safety, and warehouse service goals.
- Responsible for ingredient, packaging usage, and all other department costs.
- Encourages employee suggestions to improve production, quality, safety, and/or cost control.
- Participates on the plant safety team and ensures regulatory compliance.
- Cooperates with all departments to maintain a coordinated work relationship.
- Enforces company policies in a fair and consistent manner.
- Maintains consistent communications and participates in or leads meetings as required.
- Leads and/or participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develops self and team members' skill sets to continuously improve work standards and performance.
- Drives individual accountability and ownership of results; fosters accountability for direct reports in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Keeps accurate and up-to-date records (e.g., timekeeping, downtime, absentee records).
- Willing to work overtime or weekends when required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- 2–3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in the food industry.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
- Ability to prioritize and follow directions with little or no supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multi-functional tasks.
- Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends when required.
- Bilingual is a plus.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions in various formats.
- Ability to learn and utilize various technology systems.
