(UWL) is a healthcare service company that implements and manages turn-key hospital-based laboratory outreach programs, currently operating some of the most successful hospital-based outreach lab programs in the country. The Processing Manager is a key member of the outpatient lab services management team and plays a critical role in providing quality patient care by ensuring accurate and reliable sample processing on a daily basis. The ideal candidate has specimen processing experience, is passionate about patient care, and is an independent thinker that thrives in a fast-paced environment. The perfect candidate will be able to work a flexible schedule in a 24/7 operation, aligning work hours with business needs.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the accuracy of specimen processing and the quality of specimens.
- Monitors employee performance through evaluations and counseling.
- Keeps an accurate inventory and orders supplies as needed.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state and company regulations.
- Maintains daily workflow through proper employee scheduling.
- Maintains excellent working relationships with all clients and their staff by providing excellent service and by getting involved in training and problem resolution.
- Reports any issues to the Laboratory Manager and/or UWL Program Manager and follows through with the resolution.
- Is familiar with and adheres to Compliance Policies and explains relevant issues to clients.
- Ensures that any supplies given to clients are in accordance with hospital policy and are reasonable based upon usage.
- Treats all employees and clients with honesty, dignity, courtesy, and respect.
- Provides support to Phlebotomy Operations as needed.
- Acts as on‑call supervisory resource on rotating weekends.
- Provides accurate communication to physicians and their staff regarding the proper ordering of lab tests and obtaining lab results.
- Monitors that testing is performed in a timely manner and results are given to the physician within established standards of turnaround time.
- Demonstrates the ability to assume the job of any staff member in case of employee absence.
- Demonstrates initiative by seeking to improve the performance of the program before an identified weakness becomes a problem.
Requirements
- Clinical Lab Technology background required
- Ability to work days, evenings, graveyard, and weekends based on business needs required
- At least 5 years management/supervisory experience in a laboratory field required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to be flexible to changing priorities, and to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to schedule and plan workloads, implement systems and projects that align with company objectives
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and basic quality systems

Schedule
Core onsite work hours are 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.; the role requires a flexible schedule to align with business needs in a 24/7 operation.
