Processing Maintenance Tech
About the role
The Processing Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment in a food manufacturing environment. This role requires a combination of technical skills and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Respond to calls and work requests to maintain machine performance during shifts.
- Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises, and conducting scheduled tests.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment, complete daily Work Order documentation, and enter information into CMMS system.
- Proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Routine inspection of tools and maintenance equipment.
- Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
- Install, assemble, and test new machines and equipment.
- Troubleshoot: Monitor, identify, and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells, or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.
- Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric, and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.
- Diagnosis of mechanical and electrical system issues.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical machinery.
- Reading, interpreting, and following instructions and operation manuals.
- Assist with installation of new equipment and performing calibration and adjustments to ensure accurate and efficient operation.
- Maintain machinery and the adjacent workplace in a state of appropriate cleanliness.
- Assist with inventory control.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Perform all duties within OSHA and company safety standards; LOTO, wear PPE and maintain safety equipment.
- Ensure safety devices are installed and working properly.
- Follow good manufacturing practices and HACCP training, along with company SOP’s, and SSOP’s.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Required Experience: 1+ years of experience in a maintenance or mechanical field.
- Knowledge of the materials, tools, methods, and techniques used in the mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic trades.
- Basic understanding of motors, and controllers, hydraulics and pneumatics, plumbing.
- Basic understanding of PLC I/O.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP.
- Preferred: Robotics maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience working in a food manufacturing environment preferred but not required.

- The ability to stand for extended periods of time, and use hands/arms to push, pull, reach and occasionally lift above head.
- The ability to lift, push, pull up to 25 pounds and 50 pounds infrequently.
- The ability to visually inspect equipment and/or product.
Additional Information
The starting pay rate for this role is $20.00 – $28.00 (Hourly). Available Shifts: 1st shift: Monday - Thursday from 4:30 AM to 5:00 PM. 3rd shift: Thursday - Sunday from 4:30 AM to 5:00 PM. 4th shift: Thursday - Sunday from 4:30 PM to 5:00 AM. Shift Differential Hourly Rate: 3rd shift $2.00 4th shift $2.50 Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Link Snacks Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment is a plant setting with wet/slippery floors, varying degrees of temperatures with an average temperature of 40 degrees in the production area. Team Members will be exposed to raw and/or cooked meat products and moving equipment and will be required to follow all Food Safety Quality requirements.
